Joe Held, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer for The Reader’s Digest Association, brings more than 20 years of experience in global information technology – focusing on business reengineering; business acquisitions/divestitures; web product and application development; technology architecture design and infrastructure management; and technology strategy and implementation. He currently has responsibility for the company’s technology worldwide.

Before joining RDA, Joe was the senior vice president and chief information officer for Standard & Poor’s, where he developed and implemented S&P’s technology strategy which extended S&P’s product reach to the global capital and equity markets. This included bringing new credit analytics and bond pricing products to market, delivering the next generation of Index processing platforms, and implementing the new global Ratings and Equity Research workflow and analytics platforms.

Prior to S&P, Joe was the executive responsible for Investment Technology Services at Hartford Life Insurance, where he established an industry-leading technology service for the Annuity and Mutual Funds lines of businesses. He has also held IT roles at CIGNA HealthCare and Aetna Life and Casualty.

Joe is a Rutgers graduate and has conducted graduate work at the University of Massachusetts.
